Hyperventilation
It is an abnormally fast or deep respiration, which results in the loss of carbon dioxide from the blood, thereby causing dizziness, a fall in blood pressure, tingling of the extremities, chest pain and sometimes fainting. Hyperventilation can be brought about voluntarily, by taking excessive deep breaths but most frequently stress or anxiety lead to hyperventilation. Hyperventilation also occurs as a consequence of various lung diseases, head injury or stroke.
