Dilatated pupils
Mydriasis – normally it occurs in dark light and as a result of sympathetic nervous system activation (e.g. because of fear, excitement). It may be a symptom of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. It can be caused by atropine, antidepressants, antihistamines, cocaine and amphetamine. One-sided dilation of pupil may be a manifestation of brain stem herniation, cranial nerve III paralysis, acute glaucoma, unilateral intracranial mass.
