Heartburn
Heartburn is a burning pain localized behind the lower part of the sternum, accompanied by bad taste in mouth, occuring after eating and in the recumbent posture. Above-mentioned symptoms are result of penetration of acid gastric contents to esophagus due to impairment of lower sphincter function (so called reflux disease), what in consequence leads to erosion formation. Heartburn is intensified by drinking alcohol, coffee, consumption of spicy food and citrus fruit.
